I don't have reliable current information about which Southeast Asian restaurants are specifically operating in Sheung Wan tonight. Restaurant situations change frequently with closures and relocations. I'd recommend: - Checking Google Maps or OpenRice for current Sheung Wan restaurants with filters for Southeast Asian cuisine - Asking your hotel concierge for up-to-date local recommendations - Searching recent reviews on local Hong Kong food blogs This will ensure you get accurate, current information rather than potentially outdated suggestions from me.

Asked: “What are the best Southeast Asian restaurants in Hong Kong? Give me a ranked list of 5 with the restaurant names.”
Below is a ranked list of 5 standout Southeast Asian restaurants in Hong Kong, selected for their authentic flavors, culinary innovation, critical acclaim, and consistent customer praise, spanning different cuisines and price points: 1. **Mott 32** – While best known for its Cantonese dim sum and roasted meats, this iconic, award-winning restaurant (frequently listed on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants) features a standout Southeast Asian-inspired menu section rooted in the cross-cultural heritage of Hong Kong’s old Mott Street diaspora. Its signature dishes like wagyu beef rendang (Indonesian-style slow-cooked spiced beef) and Thai-style grilled sea bass with lemongrass and chili lime are executed with exceptional precision, balancing bold traditional flavors with premium ingredients. The opulent, vintage-inspired decor and top-tier service make it a destination for special occasions. 2. **Chôm Chôm** – A beloved, casual Vietnamese bistro in SoHo that consistently ranks as one of Hong Kong’s best Vietnamese spots, celebrated for its unpretentious, street-food-inspired authenticity. Helmed by a Vietnamese chef, its most popular dishes include crispy imperial rolls with fresh herbs, caramelized claypot catfish, and pho bo made with a 12-hour simmered bone broth that matches the depth of classic Hanoi street stalls. The lively, vibrant atmosphere and affordable price point make it a local favorite for casual dinners and group gatherings. 3. **Samsen** – A critically acclaimed Thai street food restaurant with locations in Wan Chai and Central, founded by a Thai chef who grew up working in his family’s street stall in Bangkok. It is famous for its ultra-rich boat noodles (simmered with pork bones, blood, and herbs for 24 hours), crispy pork belly with Thai chili dip, and tangy som tam (papaya salad) made to order with fresh, imported Thai ingredients. Samsen has earned a Bib Gourmand from the Michelin Guide for its high-quality, authentic flavors at accessible prices, and often has long queues during peak hours. 4. **Duddell’s** – Another Michelin-starred Hong Kong institution, Duddell’s blends Cantonese culinary tradition with refined Southeast Asian influences that reflect the region’s long history of cross-cultural exchange. Its standout Southeast Asian offerings include slow-cooked Indonesian beef rendang with coconut rice, Malaysian-style laksa lemak with fresh prawns, and Thai-style mango sticky rice made with ripe Ataulfo mangoes and house-made coconut cream. The elegant, art-filled space (it showcases rotating contemporary Chinese art collections) and polished service make it a popular choice for business lunches and upscale casual meals. 5. **Makan House** – A cozy, family-run Singaporean and Malaysian restaurant in Jordan that is a hidden gem for hawker-style Southeast Asian comfort food. Run by a Singaporean couple, it serves some of the most authentic nasi lemak in the city (with fragrant coconut rice, crispy fried chicken, house-made sambal, and traditional condiments), as well as Hainanese chicken rice, laksa, and char kway teow stir-fried flat rice noodles with shrimp and bean sprouts. It has earned a loyal local following for its generous portions, affordable prices, and flavors that closely replicate the hawker stalls of Singapore and Penang. Note that rankings of this type are subjective and reflect common critical and consumer consensus as of 2024; individual preferences for specific cuisines or price points may shift the order.

For some reason on one weekend their cash machine was "broken". However, they don't disclose it's cash only until you are about to pay. You should disclose this when customer enters so there is less misunderstanding and I can have the cash ready and not need to go to the station

A restaurant specializing in laksa. The rich coconut-based soup comes with two types of noodles. The soup is simply delicious, with a perfect balance of spice and coconut. I ended up drinking every last drop! The staff were also thoughtful, offering wet wipes without being asked.
